More Than a Hundred Researchers Gather for NCF's AI-Powered Research Workshop. Naga College Foundation successfully hosted the three-day workshop “Navigating the Research Lifecycle from Concept to Publication with AI Synergy” on April 21–23, 2026, bringing together more than a hundred student and faculty researchers.
Naga City, Philippines – April 23, 2026 – More than a hundred students and faculty researchers from various higher education institutions across the Bicol Region gathered at Naga College Foundation (NCF) for the three-day research workshop entitled “Navigating the Research Lifecycle from Concept to Publication with AI Synergy” held on April 21–23, 2026, at the MTV Hall and CAF Multi-Purpose Hall, NCF Campus.
The workshop was organized in response to the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic research and knowledge creation. Designed for both student and faculty researchers, the program aimed to equip participants with practical skills in utilizing AI-enabled research tools while maintaining academic integrity, methodological rigor, and ethical standards.
The workshop sought to bridge the gap between traditional research methodologies and the efficiency offered by Generative AI technologies. Participants were guided on how AI can responsibly support various stages of the research process—from identifying research problems and conducting literature reviews to data analysis, manuscript preparation, and journal publication.
The workshop featured Dr. Alice Valerio of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas as the primary resource speaker. Drawing from her extensive research experience and scholarly publications, she provided participants with both theoretical foundations and hands-on applications of AI-assisted research tools.
Throughout the three-day activity, participants engaged in discussions and workshops covering research problem identification, systematic literature review and synthesis, theoretical framework development, methodology design, instrument development, AI-assisted data analysis, citation management, academic writing, ethical verification and disclosure, manuscript conversion for publication, and journal matching. The event brought together approximately 120 student and faculty participants from the following institutions: • Mabini Colleges, Inc. • Mariners Polytechnic College–Canaman • Naga College Foundation • Polangui Community College • Republic Colleges of Guinobatan, Inc.
The strong participation from various institutions demonstrates the growing commitment of higher education institutions to harness the power of AI to strengthen research capabilities and productivity. Beyond learning new technologies, participants gained practical insights on how to conduct more efficient, ethical, and impactful research.
As higher education continues to evolve in the age of artificial intelligence, Naga College Foundation remains committed to providing meaningful learning opportunities that advance research excellence, innovation, and academic collaboration across the region.
